October 2017 Newsletter – “The Shadows” by Dr. Roni Burton, MD

Shalom saints!  It’s the perfect greeting.  Shalom not only means peace, but it also speaks of prosperity, safety, happiness, health and wellness.  We are living in a time of major transition, on the threshold of eternity, and that change, ready or not, is here.  Yahuha is true to His Word. Often when the celestial realm breaks into our dimension, the first response is fear.  Thus “Fear Not” is the greeting of heavenly messengers when they appear.  1 John 4:18 states, “There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear has torment.  He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

There are several diagnoses associated with fear, stress, and anxiety.  These include but are not limited to hives, depression, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, insomnia, eating disorders, etc.  This is a common problem.  What’s the solution?  The shadow that one is under will determine the response to fear.  Fear is the spirit that runs this present word, and Satan is author of fear, confusion, and chaos.  In his book A More Excellent Way, Dr. Henry Wright lays out the principle of how disease manifests.  That is because they have spiritual roots.  Dr. Wright states, “A spiritually rooted disease is a result of separation from God, separation from yourself, and separation from others.” (1)

King David understood this principle.  When the enemy torments people with fear, producing the symptoms of diseas,e he offers them ancient and modern elixirs to sooth symptoms while worsening the condition.  From alcohol, to anti-depressants, to partying, sex, work, dead religion, smoking, etc.  The addiction then leads to the next high.

In the 23rd Psalm, King David stated, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the SHADOW of death.”  The word shadow can literally or figuratively mean a defense, a hovering over, a shade.  We know that in Genesis 1:2, the Holy Spirit brooded, hovered over the face of the waters (us).  So a shadow is as a covering.

Psalm 91:1 states, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the SHADOW of the Most High.”  If we dwell under the “defence” of Yah that fear cannot enter, then we experience the shalom of the Most High.  One of my favorite scriptures is 2Tim 1:7 which states, “For God has not given us the the spirit of fear(satan);but of power and of love and a sound mind”. (emphasis added).  In this verse satan is removed and Love (Father), Power (Holy Spirit), and a Sound Mind (the Mind of Christ) is mine.  That is if we abide under God’s shadow and not satan’s.

As we are moving into eternity let us abide under the shadow of the Most High.  There is not stress, anxiety or fear there.  Shalom!
