The Choice of the Chosen: Reject or Receive We all know that King David was received of God to the point where God sent his own son Yashua down through his bloodline. John 7:42 "Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?" Now Saul was clearly rejected by God and I’ve heard many of his bad decisions but not much else. One was received and one was rejected but BOTH were chosen by God and accepted the call and the anointing… so why the different outcome? The choice of the chosen, that is the difference- for each person reading this- is not by accident. It’s because God has chosen you, but whether you are received or rejected is based on your choices. As I mentioned interestingly enough, they both accepted the call of God on their life, they chose Him, as many of us have and they both accepted the anointing as they had the oil poured over them as many of us have accepted the anointing of the Holy Spirit... but what happened after that?
So God does this thing to me many times where he will tell me an exact verse to look up that I know I am not familiar with, and I always get excited because I know I have no knowledge going in, so He intends to show me something I’ve never seen. Recently he said “Samuel 10” and I look it up, and it’s the story of Saul becoming King. Now when you read this you quickly realize if you try to read this in the natural you miss the entire point of this chapter. This chapter illustrated that God chose Saul! He wanted Saul to walk out the exact process that He is still asking us to go through today of dying to self and becoming a high priest as Yashua going from the Outer Court of the temple into the Holy of Holies for the mysteries and secrets of the revelation, where God would transform us into a new man. As I will show you He literally had Saul, the new king, walk this transformation out in the natural, to illustrate the blueprint of what this should look like in the spiritual. This is a blueprint that applies to us as well, as it says in Revelation 5:10, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” So God made this where Saul would do this himself and then walk the nation through this same process, as we know Israel had come far from God at this point in the bible. It says out of the heart the mouth speaks, and we can see by Israel’s request for a king in the “natural” shows that their hearts still had a carnal perspective as they did not see their Spiritual King that they had already, which is why they were the only nation without a natural King. Samuel 8:20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. Because if they saw their spiritual king they would realize God had been doing exactly this since He led them out of Egypt, and with him as their father and king that they were all heirs to the throne that they also were supposed to be moving into a position of Kings and Priests upon the earth. But they didn’t have the eyes to see this and in their blind eyes they were literally giving up the position God had given them. So God answered their request but set out to give them a King that would bring them back to his original plan and position He had ordained for them to be on the earth by giving the nation eyes to see so they could walk out Revelation 5:10 “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” instead of asking for a king in the natural.
The story starts with Saul going to look for the donkeys that had gone missing. As we know donkeys have been used to symbolize the apostolic, and this was a time when true guidance and the apostolic was missing from Israel. But just as Saul runs in to Samuel and Samuel anoints him, he tells him that also the donkeys had been found in the natural. Because God had found the person He chose to fill this role in the spiritual. Now Samuel anoints him and prophesies the journey Saul will take that will lead up to the day he is presented as king of the kingdom. Then He tells him of the first place he will go- Sam 10:2 When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulcher in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; Now each name in this story is significant and I checked the Strong's Concordance for the meanings. The name Rachel means: “ewe” or sheep and the root also ties to “journey" and a sepulcher a grave represents death. So we know this symbolizes becoming a sacrifice and a journey of death. And Zelzah comes from two root words Tsale 1. shadow, shade and Tsach 1. dazzling, glowing, clear, bright. So we can see here a symbolic place of the journey of death to self, which only happens by going from the darkness or shade into the light of Yeshua!
Then he says the next place Sam 10:3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine. Tabor breaks into taw-bor Definition: Tabor = mound or mountain and further into teb-ar' Definition: 1. to break (P'al) broken in pieces (participle). We know that mountain also speaks of mindsets, so we know this is representative of breaking mindsets which is the biggest part of journey in death to self! Next Samuel says three men will be going up to the house of Bethel. So this is where we see moving into the temple. Now three speaks of perfection, so we see this is a perfect understanding of these places in the temple. As the three men have 3 kids or three goats for sacrifice which would symbolize the Outer Court. The other two have three loaves of bread and a bottle of wine, which would be the Holy Place as we know where the showbread is found on the table with drinking cups for the drink offering the wine. So we see him coming in contact with the teachers from the Outer Court and Holy Place. Then Samuel says they will give you two loaves. Just as Moses was given two tablets this symbolizes Saul being given the teaching of Torah. But this is the Torah still as the dead letter until we see it in the prophetic God’s mind so that’s why the next stop is so important!
Sam 10:5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where [is] the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy: As soon as he is given Torah, that is when he goes to the hill of God on which the Philistines are encamped. So we know hills and mountains mean mindsets, so we have to see the Torah with the mindset of Yashua! But this is to show that we must overcome the carnal mindsets and the root of Philistines, which breaks down to Palash - Definition: 1. to roll a. (Hithpael) to roll in ashes or dust so literally what stands between us and the mindset of Yashua is our carnal mindsets covered in dirt! Interestingly enough, pigs also roll in dirt, which speaks of a people who will eat anything. So here we see he must stop eating all kinds of teachings and kill those carnal mindsets to ascend the mountain of God. Also it speaks of ashes, so we see that once the fire of God burns up those mindsets we can move forward into the mind of Yashua.
Then He says he will come to a city, the word `uwr - Definition: 1. to rouse oneself, awake, awaken, incite e. (Hiphil) mk- Origin: a primitive root [rather identical with H5783, H5783 through the idea of opening the eyes] Now the definition of a prophet in ancient Hebrew means one to open the seed so the one to remove the veil and open our eyes to the revelation, which is why they are by the city! Coming down from the High place or the Holy of Holies, so now we see moving past the Outer Court and Holy Place to the Holy of Holies! And as the order always is, the worshipers go before the prophets, as he says before them will be a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them all instruments of worship... Now this shows him being born again awaking to Christ these prophets show the Holy of Holies as they prophesy he also begins to prophesy, so he has received the seed from them and it has borne fruit as he prophesies, and Samuel says you will become a new man. Sam 10: 6 And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
Only the Holy of Holies where the prophets go in and come out with secrets and the seeds of the revelation and impart them to you - that has the ability to create a new people and change people. God also had shown me in researching eagles, which represent the prophets, unlike most animals they do not learn by instincts as most animals do. Instead they learn by imprinting, which is why it is so important that you are learning from a true prophet because you become what you see. We see here these were true prophets as Saul became a new man from simply the prophesy that came from them, the seeds they released into him from them.
Now Samuel says from here he will go to Gilgal and wait for 7 days! Gilgal is where Joshua placed the 12 stones in the promise land - the apostolic! So at the beginning where the apostolic was missing and was found - God is showing it is found with His plan for Saul as he has come to this place Gilgal. We also know that we are in the 7th day, and this is when God is coming to meet us and take us into our place of Kingship in the Kingdom just like Saul. Now if there was any further doubt Saul was a chosen one, we can look at the names he carried, which speaks of character and function, we know in the Hebrew. He was of the tribe of Benjamin meaning "Son of the Right Hand" and the house of Matri = rain of Jehovah, so clearly his whole bloodline name spoke of his call to truly bring the people back to God! Even when Samuel goes to announce him as king, he does it a place called Mizpah meaning watchtower so he was to be a watchman of the people. It even says, Sam 10:23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward. The only thing upwards of your shoulders is your head so he was even represented to be more knowledgeable than the rest. Yet in the end, was still rejected by God.
And we see this same picture with the church today trying to walk this out in the natural but not the spiritual. This same journey he took is the one God has called us to take in the spiritual, but the question is... are we? Saul walked this in the natural but not the spiritual, and since he never died to self, he constantly came up with excuses to justify selfish disobedience and would still claim before God that he did walked out the word as we see here. And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. And Samuel said, What [meaneth] then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? 15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. Sam 15:26 He constantly rejected the word of the Lord and so the Lord rejected him Sam 15:26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
So when did God draw the line? When Saul put into motion the death of God’s people with his disobedience. God told him to kill the king of the Amalekites and he didn’t. This is the same bloodline that allowed Haman who had the king decree to kill all the Jews in there in time of Queen Esther who actually obeyed God- contrary to her Grandfather Saul and saved them from this decree. But the natural is only a picture of the spiritual, so Saul was sending the Jews to death in the natural with his disobedience but even worse sending them to spiritual death with his disobedience to God as he never walked out that originally blueprint God gave him the day he was anointed and therefor could not walk anyone else through it. He never took the people through that process of death to self and into the revelation and secrets, and even worse, he was sending them to spiritual death. So at that point God completely rejected him as any parent would who loves their children, who Saul’s Kingship was threatening. Saul had the characters and functions in his bloodline, he had the blueprint, he even walked in out in the natural but never the spiritual and because of that there were many spiritual deaths on his hands. And then he fell away into such a place of darkness that he even tried to destroy the new move of God the true line of Yashua coming through David.
So we have the answer through Saul’s and David’s Story on how we go from the chosen to the ‘received or the rejected’. It is no accident that we have read this. We are being called more than ever to start walking God’s instructions out prophetically and to do that we must understand the revelation of his Word. We saw the importance of the 7th day, which is Saul’s journey, the day the prophet came to meet with him and present him into his Kingship, which ties in to our present time! We know that Peter said in 2 Peter 3:8 ‘beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day’ and from the beginning until now we are passing that 6000 year mark stepping into that 7th day as well! Just as thousands of years ago, God sent Saul on a walk in the natural that he wanted him to take in the spiritual as well- he’s still doing that which I can testify to personally. My brother recently pointed out to me the place that we grew up was “613 Shady Lane” and we know the Torah is made up of “613 mitzvahs” and shade means no light or darkness. So we grew up in the dead letter in the death and darkness without the prophetic truth of Torah just the natural. And our parents also pretty strict, had us on a tight radius hanging out in the neighborhood so the only place we could really go was a park two blocks away -and to get there we walked down “shady lane” turned down “Seville” which in female name means “prophetess” and turned to the street the park was on - which exact address was “700 TRUMPET”! So out of the dead letter and into the prophetic truth of it! Now we walked this out hundreds of times in the natural, but God wanted us to do this in the spiritual and I thank God that he brought us to this ministry with Apostle Mike Petro, a true trumpet of the mysteries and revelations so now we can! So decide which church you want to be a part of... which people… those of the spirit of Saul the rejected or the spirit of David the received, for if we are hearing this we are the chosen, now we have a choice to make! A choice that when will make us either the rejected or the received in his kingdom!
